🛠️ How to install eSIM Copilot in Microsoft Teams

  1. Visit the Teams Admin Portal
  1. Click on “Teams Apps” > “Manage Apps”
    1. Use the left sidebar.

  1. Search for “eSIM Copilot” and select it
  1. Click the “Users and Groups” tab
    1. Decide who can access the app. You can:

      • Allow Everyone
      • Choose specific users or groups (ideal for pilots)
  1. Set permissions (Recommended)
    1. Click the Permissions tab and allow these:

      • User.Read – lets users sign in and lets the app see their basic profile
      • offline_access – maintains access when the user is away
      • openidprofileemail – enables login and reads the user's email address
  1. Click “Publish”
    1. This makes eSIM Copilot visible and installable for your users.

📦 Pre-install the app for users (optional but recommended)

To ensure every employee sees the app straight away:

  1. In Teams Admin Portal, go to Teams Apps > Setup Policies
  1. Select the policy you want (e.g. Global (Org-wide default))
  1. Under Installed Apps, click Add Apps and select eSIM Copilot
  1. Save your changes

📌 Pin eSIM Copilot to the Teams sidebar

Make the app easy to find by pinning it:

  1. Still in the Setup Policy, scroll to Pinned Apps
  1. Click + Add Apps and select eSIM Copilot
  1. You can also choose its position in the list
  1. Click Save

Once pinned, users will see eSIM Copilot in:

  • Microsoft Teams (desktop & mobile)
  • Outlook
  • Microsoft 365 sidebar

🔐 Enable Single Sign-On for auto account linking

If you enable Single Sign-On for Teams in the Admin Portal, any user with an email in your Microsoft Azure tenant (e.g. @company.com) will be automatically added to your company’s eSIM Copilot account.

To turn this on:

  1. Go to eSIM Copilot Admin Portal
  1. Open Account Settings > Security
  1. Toggle on Enable Single Sign-On

This helps keep your user management tidy and secure — we recommend enabling it.

🧪 First-time testing & validation

Once installed:

  • ✅ Try chatting with the eSIM Copilot bot in Teams
  • ✅ Check the “My eSIMs” tab loads properly

You should not be asked to login or accept any permissions.
