Your device might be carrier locked if it was bought through a mobile network provider on a contract. A locked device can only use SIMs (or eSIMs) from that specific network. Bit old school eh?
If your device is unlocked, you’re free to use it with any provider — including eSIM Copilot.
🔍 How to check if your device is carrier locked
On iPhone
Go to Settings → General → About
Scroll to Network Provider Lock
- If it says No SIM restrictions, your device is unlocked
- If it shows a specific network or restriction, it's likely locked
On Android
This varies by brand, but generally:
- Insert a SIM from a different network
- If it works, your device is likely unlocked
- Or go to Settings → About Phone and look for SIM or network lock status (this might not exist on your Android version)
💡 Not sure? Try it out anyway.
If you're unsure whether your device is locked, you can still give it a go — our system will let you order and attempt to install the eSIM.
If it doesn't work, chill - we’ll refund you or your employer if you’re on a business account.
No stress, no risk, no drama. Just send us a quick message at help@esimcopilot.com and we’ll sort it out if you get stuck.
