Step by Step - How to install your eSIM on Android 🤖 – eSIM Copilot

Once you've ordered your plan, eSIM Copilot makes installation simple — whether you're using Teams, Slack, WhatsApp, or email.

Here’s your full guide to getting set up on Android.

📥 Getting your eSIM delivered

After ordering, your eSIM will be delivered via:

💬 Teams or Slack (when your plan starts)

📧 Email

📱 WhatsApp (if you’ve enabled it)

If you're using Microsoft Teams, head to the My eSIMs tab in the Copilot chat to view your active plans at any time.

⚠️ In Teams, we’ll only send the “your eSIM is ready” message once your plan becomes active — not before.

🚀 Install Option 1: Scan the QR code

You’ll need to scan the QR code provided via email, Teams, Slack or WhatsApp.

Here’s how:

Point your camera at the QR code from your email or the eSIM ready message from eSIM Copilot

Follow the prompts to activate the plan

🛠️ Install Option 2: Enter details manually

If the QR code doesn't work:

In the same menu, choose Enter activation code manually

Use the SM-DP+ address and activation code we sent you

Complete the setup steps to activate the eSIM

🎛 Android SIM Settings

Android won’t show a full “Buddy Helper” like iOS, but it will ask how to use each SIM. Here's how to make sure everything stays in sync with your usual number:

📶 Mobile Data

To use your eSIM Copilot plan for mobile data, set it as your preferred SIM for data.

Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Mobile Data and select your eSIM Copilot plan.

📞 Calls & SMS

If you want to keep your normal number active for calls and texts, leave your physical SIM set as the default for these.

This way, you get new data without affecting your day-to-day number.

🏷️ Label your SIMs

You’ll be able to label your eSIM — we recommend calling it “eSIM Copilot” so it’s easy to recognise later.

🌍 Enable Data Roaming

If you're using eSIM Copilot while travelling, you’ll need to switch on data roaming:

Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → eSIM Copilot

Toggle Data Roaming to ON

📡 Switching your data line (anytime)

You can swap between your domestic SIM and eSIM Copilot for mobile data at any time:

Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Mobile Data

Choose your preferred SIM for data use

Your calls and texts will continue to work on your normal number unless you change those defaults.
